Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed?

Is this affecting your work or personal relationships?

As a BACP-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist working with adults in Cambridge, I bring 20 years of experience working in senior management roles to my current therapeutic practice.  I’m particularly aware of the demands that the modern-day workplace presents, such as work stress, burnout and redundancy.

In addition, day-to-day life is often challenging, and difficult situations can be thrown at us, such as infertility, parenting, menopause, divorce and bereavement. These pressures can affect how we show up and behave with people close to us, at work, and in our personal lives and sometimes this is not aligned with how we would like to be.

I provide an empathetic, confidential, and non-judgmental space to explore the challenges you’re facing. My psychodynamic approach forms the foundation of my therapeutic practice. This essentially means that, when working with clients, we consider together the unconscious, hidden meaning behind what we do.

Perhaps you have become overwhelmed or frustrated with your emotional responses to particular people in your life, whether at work or at home. Or maybe you feel stuck in habits that are no longer beneficial to you or are making your life more difficult. Together we can understand how these patterns may have become established and how you can make positive changes in your life.

I have developed my counselling experience in a range of sectors, and the clients I work with typically present with work issues, relationship issues, anxiety and depression. In addition, I have experience working with bereavement, loneliness, menopause, anger, past trauma, and abuse. I have worked with clients from different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders and ages.

Psychotherapy is not about giving advice, it is a talking therapy in which you discuss issues you are currently facing. Psychotherapists are trained to understand the different layers of the mind's inner world, much of which lies outside conscious awareness, helping you recognise how this affects your day-to-day life.

Many of the people I work with find therapy a healthy way to better understand themselves and process their emotional reactions safely. It helps them improve their emotional health, performance at work, and overall sense of positivity in their lives.

Over time, working with a therapist can support you to change and show up differently in personal and work relationships, in ways that are more aligned with the person you want to be.
